Sustainability education allows students to develop the knowledge, skills, values and worldviews necessary to contribute to more sustainable patterns of living. Actions that support more sustainable patterns of living require consideration of environmental, social, cultural and economic systems and their interdependence.

We are currently working through the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Program – a government initiative – that will help our school benefit from embedding sustainability in everything we do. Our school will take action to minimise waste, save energy and water, promote biodiversity and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. We are linked with a facilitator from CERES, who provides guidance on achieving and maintaining our sustainability certification. An essential element of this program is adopting a whole school approach: across the school, we are engaged in a range of practices that incorporate these ideas, from recycling to embedded curriculum priorities.

You can follow our sustainability journey via our blog. Please check this page regularly for updates on our sustainability certification, stories about student’s environmental initiatives and sustainability in the curriculum.
